For a 500 ml preparation, each sachet contains:
Hamdard ORS is a glucose-based oral rehydration salt containing essential electrolytes and glucose. It serves as a single formulation for treating or preventing dehydration resulting from diarrhea of any cause, including cholera, in individuals of all age groups. The balanced electrolyte composition helps prevent acidosis due to electrolyte imbalance.
The daily dose should be equivalent to the patient's fluid requirement for maintenance and replenishment of losses. The administration depends on age groups:
Disperse the contents of the sachet in 500 mL of pure drinking water. Do not mix with hot water or heat the solution. Discard any unused solution after 12 hours.
Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
